Today, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, Ildar Khuzzyatov was appointed acting mayor of Innopolis. This decision was made on the basis of part 16 of Article 21 of Federal Law No. 33-FZ dated 03/20/2025 "On general principles of the organization of local self-government in the unified system of public Authority", since candidates for the post of mayor were not nominated by the city Council. 

The appointment makes it possible to ensure the continuity of the city's management system, especially during the period of active implementation of infrastructural, social and technological projects. In addition, this decision is due to strategic continuity — Ildar Khuzzyatov is deeply immersed in the development of the city and leads key projects personally.

Who headed Innopolis

Ildar Khuzzyatov is one of those who participated in the development of Innopolis from the very beginning and stood at the origins of the project. He has been working in the city's team since 2015: he started by coordinating significant projects and consistently worked his way up to the head of the city's Executive Committee (he has held the position since 2022).

● 10 years in the Innopolis Innovation Center team; 

● Member of the Expert Council of the Innopolis SEZ; 

● member of the Management Personnel Reserve of the Raisa of the Republic of Tatarstan, 2016; 

● Graduate of the School of Mayors program for the development of the municipal personnel management reserve, implemented on behalf of the President of Russia.

"Innopolis is a special place for me. I joined the project in early 2015, when the city was just emerging. During this time, the team of which I am a part has built a new urban community with its own unique identity.

My team and I will continue to pay special attention to the effective solution of administrative and economic issues in order to make life in Innopolis even more comfortable. We have important tasks ahead of us: the implementation of infrastructure projects, the development of public spaces, the construction of new housing, as well as the introduction of modern digital solutions into the urban environment.

The main goal is for Innopolis to remain a city of opportunities, convenient for living, raising children, working and relaxing. I will continue to work in the innovation center's team, without slowing down, as I have all these years, to develop a comfortable urban environment in Innopolis," Ildar Khuzzyatov shared.

Why did the appointment go through the decision of the Raisa RT 

Guided by part 16 of Article 21 of Federal Law No. 33-FZ dated 03/20/2025 "On general principles of the organization of local self-government in the unified system of public Authority", if the deputies of the city Council do not nominate any candidate for mayor from among their members, the highest official of the subject of the Russian Federation within 10 days appoints the interim head of the municipality.
